Meghann Wilhoite - Organist, Worship Leader
Meg came to know Christ as personal savior at the age of 13 in her hometown of Bradenton, FL. Called as a child to be a musician, she began studying the piano at the age of 10, and at 18 began studying music at a college level. It was at this time that she also began her ministry as a church musician and started studying the organ.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in music theory (with a minor in organ performance) from the University of Florida, she began her graduate studies at the Florida State University where she received a Master of Music in music theory. By the end of her time at FSU, Meg had served as organist in several churches in Florida, and had performed three public recitals and participated in several organ master classes.
In August of 2004, Meg moved to New York City to continue her music studies at the doctorate level at Columbia University. After submitting her resume to First Baptist Church shortly after her arrival in NYC, she was invited to play piano for the Celebration Service on Thursdays. Meg’s purpose here at First Baptist is the glorification and worship of God through music.
