We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures were given by inspiration of God, and contain the only authorized rule of Christian faith and practice. We believe there is one and only one living and true God, who subsists in three equal persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe man was created in the image of God but through disobedience fell from innocence into sin and became subject to death; and that in consequence of this fall all men, until they receive life through Jesus Christ, are dead in trespasses and sins. We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin that He might come into the world to save men from sin by His death upon the cross, through the atoning work of His shed blood. We believe that Jesus Christ rose bodily from the grave, and ascended into heaven where He now lives as the one and only Mediator between God and man. We believe that a personal belief in and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, resulting in a new birth, constitutes the one and only way of salvation; that believers on the Lord Jesus Christ have everlasting life, but that those who believe not shall not see life but abide under the wrath of God. We believe that the only ordinances of the Church are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; that Scriptural baptism is immersion of a believer “in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” and that the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of His death “until He come.” We believe that the blessed hope of the Church is the personal and premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ. |
